Churchill Downs looking to expand horse race betting in Kentucky – WLKY Louisville

Churchill Downs is expanding horse race gaming in the commonwealth.The 17,000 square-foot Newport Racing and Gaming facility will have 500 historical racing machines.Churchill Downs invested $38.4 million into this facility in Newport, Kentucky.”We anticipate that this property will help contribute as an extension of the Turfway Park racetrack that’s located in nearby Florence (Kentucky),” Newport Racing and Gaming director of marketing Gary Pecorello said.More money coming into Turfway means bigger purses and better horses.
